Special Events

IIn addition to the great educational sessions, plant tours and workshops, the conference has fun special events for you to get to you’re your industry peers. Enjoy Mark Scharenbroich, keynote speaker and the comedic entertainment, Mike Rayburn, at Tuesday’s dinner banquet. The remarkable Tuskegee Airmen will also be speaking about diversity at the dinner banquet. You won’t want to miss the great food, billiards, and bowling at the Rock-n-Bowl networking reception at The Corner Alley. Come win a laptop, gift certificate or iPod at the raffle during the closing session. Here you will also get to experience and be a part of the first SMRP Diversity Panel discussion. Don't forget to bring your significant other as we have also arranged a special host of activities for them to enjoy as well. SMRP is looking forward to sharing this experience with you – see you in Cleveland!

Tuskegee Airmen Diversity Speakers
NEW this year! SMRP has invited the Tuskegee Airmen to join us at SMRP’s dinner banquet as the featured diversity speaker. They will share their remarkable story of conquering discrimination and adversity while battling for the right to defend freedom. The Tuskegee Airmen were a self contained group of pilots, avionics and weapons specialists, as well as a team of equipment maintenance and reliability specialists, based on Tuskegee, Alabama. These brave Airmen simply wanted to join the military during World War II and help make a difference. Their enduring spirit will open your eyes as you hear of their unwavering commitment to defend America’s Freedom. They conquered many setbacks in their journey, and once they won the right to protect Freedom, they proved their battle was worth the fight.

We invite you to join SMRP and make a contribution to this rewarding presentation. The contribution fees will cover the expenses of the Airmen, while any, and all, additional funds will be awarded to the Tuskegee Airmen Foundation (http://tuskegeeairmen.org). Contributions of $250 or more will receive recognition on the special events page of the SMRP conference website and signage with company logo at the event. SMRP would like to thank the following for their generous contribution:

Rock-n-Bowl Networking Reception
The Corner Alley is the ultimate entertainment experience for SMRP members to network, combining a 16 lane hip bowling alley, billiards, a martini bar and sleek, casual-dining. Each year the networking receptions bring more and more members - last year was sold out - so you won't want to be left out of the Rock-n-Bowl. Space is limited, so sign up at the time you register for the conference for only $25/person. Guests and Spouses are welcome.

Spouse Programs
While the attendees are busy with the educational sessions and roaming the exhibit hall floor, the guests and spouses can enjoy a great time seeing Cleveland.... by land, by water and by drinking wine in the local vineyards! SMRP has two wonderful programs planned for Tuesday, October 21 and Wednesday, October 22. Each program costs $75/person and includes breakfast, lunch, transportation, guide and access to the tours. Due to the nature of the tours, no children will be allowed. Registration will be available on the conference registration form. For a detailed description of each tour, CLICK HERE
