Electrical Safety: What You Need to Know to Build and Electrical Safety Program

William Rodeman, CMRP, Land O'Lakes, Inc.
Audience Level: Intermediate

Electrical Safety - This topic has gathered more and more attention recently.  The additional attention and push to implement or update an Electrical Safety Program has left people and organizations with more questions than answers.  The Electrical Safety Program and elements of the program need to be explicit, so employees are properly protected, yet simple enough the requirements are able to be understood by people of different disciplines (Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Engineering, etc.).  Regulations require there be processes and a program in place to protect employees from electrical hazards.  The Electrical Safety Program is in place to meet these requirements, but also help guide the increase in knowledge of Electrical Safety across multiple disciplines and further develop a culture of electrical safety across the organization.

Change Management: The Process of Communicating Change

Jeffrey Copley, CMRP, ReNuke Services, Inc.
Audience Level: Intermediate

Change, humans, simply put hate it! In fact, we will do just about anything to avoid change at all costs. We’ve all heard the following phrases; “We’ve always done it this way, why change it? Why change a good thing?” This is where the Change Management process can help. In this presentation, I will offer a proven process to engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization to execute a change in any process, procedure or even personnel change. The need to ensure that changes are successfully implemented requires the “buy-in” from all stakeholders involved. This includes not only the top-level decision makers, but those that will be affected by the change. Therefore, a structured change management process is vital to the managing the organizational plan.
