SMRP Opens Nominations for 2016 CMRP of the Year Awards

ATLANTA, GA (April 18, 2016) – The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) is accepting nominations for the 2016 CMRP of Year Awards, which recognize two maintenance, reliability and physical asset management practitioners who have earned the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Nominations will be accepted until July 15, 2016.

Now in its fourth year, the CMRP of the Year Awards program distinguishes practitioners committed to advancing the maintenance, reliability and physical asset management profession. These individuals show leadership within their organizations and apply their expertise to their day-to-day work activities.

SMRP will present two awards this year. The Rising Leader award recognizes certified practitioners with 0-10 years’ experience while the Veteran Professional award honors those with more than 10 years of experience.

"Both SMRP and SMRPCO are always encouraging their members and certificate holders to be engaged," said SMRP Chair Bob Kazar, CMRP. "That being said, every year we like to recognize individuals who go above and beyond to apply their skills and knowledge to their work environments."

The CMRP is the top credentialing program for maintenance, reliability and physical asset management practitioners and is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The CMRP certification, along with the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) and Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA), are world-class certifications that provide tangible evidence to practitioners’ knowledge, skills and expertise within their profession.

CMRP-certified individuals are welcome to nominate themselves. If selected, individuals are encouraged to attend the 24th Annual SMRP Conference in Jacksonville, FL, where they will be honored in the closing ceremonies on October 19, 2016. SMRP will waive or reimburse the registration cost for winners and provide up to $1,000 USD for travel expenses to attend the event. For more information, visit www.smrp.org/certification.
