Who We Are
The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals
(SMRP) is an organization formed by practitioners, for practitioners.
We are committed to instilling excellence in Maintenance
& Reliability professionals.
Our History
SMRP was formed and chartered in 1992 to network those
in the maintenance profession. SMRP is dedicated to instilling
excellence in Maintenance & Reliability in all types
of manufacturing and service organizations, and promoting
maintenance excellence worldwide. SMRP is incorporated as
an independent, not-for-profit professional society. As
such, SMRP's Bylaws state that we are organized and operated
exclusively for educational, scientific and charitable purposes.

SMRP will be the global leader that:
- Promotes and supports maintenance & reliability
education for people, production and quality processes
to improve the work environment.
- Supports maintenance & reliability as an integral
part of business and asset management.
- Presents a collective voice on maintenance & reliability
issues and advances innovative reliability practices.
- Facilitates information exchange through a structured
network of maintenance & reliability professionals.

Educational
Workshops
Three workshops are held throughout the year covering varying
reliability related topics. Duration is one to two days.
Instructors are experts in their given fields who volunteer
their time and expertise to provide SMRP membership with
an excellent opportunity to advance their knowledge base
at a fraction of the cost of public workshops. Fees are
to cover meeting expenses only.
Executive
Member Meetings
No doubt some of our best learning opportunities come from
networking one on one with other people whose experience
base is similar to our own. Offered three times a year to
Executive Members only, free of charge, they provide the
perfect venue to listen, see and learn. Hosted by an SMRP
Executive Member, you will travel to the member's plant
where you will learn more about the site's reliability and
maintenance practices and tour their facility.
Annual Conference
Held each fall, this is the place to energize your maintenance
program. Filled with over 25 technical sessions, plant tours,
workshops, exhibition, certification opportunities and more,
it is a great opportunity to feel the pulse of SMRP and
the maintenance industry. Competitively priced. Open to
SMRP members only. Group discounts available.
Quarterly Newsletter
Four times a year you'll receive Solutions. It's the web
that ties us all together. Considering SMRP membership is
located all over the US, Canada and the world, it's the
sole way we have in communicating uniformly to everyone.
Things change, and keeping in touch in a uniform and consistent
manner is the only way to ensure that you are aware of the
opportunities available to you through SMRP.
Benchmark
Your Company
How does your company measure up? This is an excellent
opportunity, offered once per year, for Executive Members
to assess where they are, to better plan where they'd like
to go. The program offers standards for best practices that
represent a wide range of industries and a broad spectrum
of expressive indicators and is available free of charge.
Web Site & Discussion
Boards
Simply type in www.smrp.org
and open up a world of reliability information. Apply
and renew your membership on-line, register for workshops,
executive meetings and the annual conference on-line. Virtually
all SMRP events can be accessed and registered for on-line
to save you time. It's a quick way to keep abreast of changing
events and ongoing opportunities available only at SMRP.
Speaker's Bureau Database
This can be utilized as an excellent planning guide either
to meet the informational needs of yourself or perhaps a
group within your plant. Located on the SMRP website, the
database lists a host of pertinent topics and fields related
to maintenance and reliability. Simply choose your topic
of interest, click, and you will access a multitude of contact
information on companies and individuals offering information
related to these topics.
Membership Directory
Ever wonder how someone else in your position is handling
a certain situation or just wanting to start some dialogue
with a fellow reliability professional? Simply log into
the members only section of the SMRP website to access the
SMRP Membership Directory. This directory contains contact
information on all SMRP members. It's a great way to locate
old friends and make new ones.
Networking Database
Interested in how other plants operate? The networking
database compiles data on other participating SMRP practitioners.
Age of facility, work environment, job rotation, how maintenance
is organized and how maintenance is performed are some of
the areas addressed. In addition, you will find what processes
are being utilized and the level at which processes are
being performed. To participate and receive this information,
simply log into the members only section of the SMRP website
and click on the SMRP Networking Information Form and fill
out your information. To view the the entire networking
database simply click on the Networking Information link
in the members only section of the SMRP website.
Advertising Opportunities
This is an excellent networking opportunity offered exclusively
to SMRP Executive Members. Each quarter the association's
Solutions newsletter features a Professional Services Directory.
Comprised of what is sometimes referred to as "professional
cards", it is a great opportunity to remind membership of
your ongoing support of its goals.
SMRP offers two types of membership - individual and executive.
Both are sold for a twelve month period beginning on the
day your membership is processed and expire exactly one
year later. Members are sent a notice prior to membership
expiration. Renewing your membership will take only a simple
phone call or on-line communication.
Individual Memberships
Individuals who are part- or full-time maintenance and
reliability professionals engaged in work or research relating
to maintaining plants and facilities and/or pursuing research
in connection with improving the science and procedures
of maintenance and reliability may join SMRP, and shall
have the right to vote at the Annual Business Meeting, may
hold office, and may serve on the Board of Directors.

Annual Individual Membership Fee $125 or $250 for
3 years!
Executive Member Company Memberships
Companies and other organizations that employ maintenance
and reliability professionals engaged in work or research
relating to maintaining plants and facilities and/or pursuing
research in connection with improving the science and procedures
of maintenance and reliability, and have a maintenance process
supported by a policy of continuous improvement that demonstrates
a formal organizational commitment toward improving reliability
of equipment and operations, may join SMRP. Membership can
be transferred only to others within the same company or
organization.

Annual Executive Membership Fee $1250 (includes
membership for up to 5 individuals).
Supplier Membership
Individuals, companies and other organizations that are
providers of goods and services supporting the maintenance
and reliability function may join SMRP. Membership shall
not in anyway imply endorsement of their goods and services
by SMRP. Each Supplier Member shall have the right to vote
at the Annual Business Meeting. Supplier Members holding
SMRPCO certification may serve as Directors on the Board
of Directors. In no event shall a Supplier Member hold office.

Emerging Professional Membership
Individuals enrolled in a rigorous course of study, educational
institution or training program applying to the maintenance
and reliability function may join SMRP, but are not entitled
to voting privileges, may not hold office, and may not serve
on the Board of Directors.
