Featured Presentation by Doc Palmer
“Leaping Forward Using Deming Principles in Asset Management”
Dr. W. Edwards Deming’s 14 principles revolutionized the world of business “inspiring and guiding the spectacular rise of Japanese industry after World War II.” Dr. Deming was “the father of the third phase of the Industrial Revolution” and he “changed the way we think about quality, management and leadership.” Doc will show how the 14 Deming principles apply to maintenance and reliability. Palmer reviews each principle and shows how maintenance should take advantage of it for superior asset management.
Doc Palmer is the Managing Partner of Richard Palmer & Associates. With over three decades of industrial experience as a practitioner primarily within the maintenance department of the Jacksonville Electric Authority, a major United States electric utility. Palmer was responsible for overhauling the existing maintenance planning organization. The resulting success played a role in expanding planning to all crafts and stations owned and operated by the utility. In 1999, Palmer published Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Handbook which is now in its third edition (2013). Doc Palmer is a registered professional engineer with a master’s degree in business administration. He is also a CMRP.
Other presentations will be given by both practitioners and industry partners. There will also be a sponsor expo area were attendees can visit with and learn from some of the best in the industry. There will also be ample time for networking and continued learning from those in attendance.
*Registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon break on Thursday, August 24th.
