SMRP has partnered with the PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada (PEMAC) to promote awareness, excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability in the maintenance, reliability and asset management profession. As part the expanded global partnership agreement, both organizations now extend discounts on events and other educational opportunities to each others' memberss.
SMRP and PEMAC have been successfully collaborating for over ten years, both on the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM) and as two of the founding partners of the World Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM). Through these organizations, PEMAC and SMRP have worked closely on initiatives including the Global Certification Scheme in Asset Management and the Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) exam, which assesses an individual’s qualifications to be an assessor of asset management systems.
Through discussions that have culminated in this Memorandum of Understanding, PEMAC and SMRP have identified a number of avenues to expand their collaboration through focused attention on education, certification and networking opportunities.
Education
PEMAC and SMRP held an information session for SMRP members to learn more about PEMAC’s education programs.
This free webcast introduced SMRP members to PEMAC’s eight-course Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) education program, which is delivered live online or in person through accredited teaching institutions across Canada. The MMP program is well aligned with the five pillars of the SMRP Body of Knowledge providing practitioners with the tools, techniques, strategies, and skills necessary for effective management of a business’s physical assets.
PEMAC's six-course Asset Management Professional (AMP) education program was also introduced.

The PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada (PEMAC) is a non-profit professional society founded in 1990. It operated in its first 30 years as “PEMAC Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada”. PEMAC has over 1,600 members and has established Chapters across Canada.
