SMRP and ABRAMAN Establish Strategic Partnership to Advance Maintenance and Asset Management
The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) and the Brazilian Association of Maintenance and Asset Management (ABRAMAN) have formalized a strategic partnership to foster global collaboration and advance excellence in maintenance, reliability, and asset management. This partnership highlights a shared commitment to continuous improvement and accountability, with both organizations recognizing each other as global partners.
ABRAMAN, founded in 1984, is Brazil’s first association dedicated to maintenance and asset management, uniting professionals, companies, and institutions. A Shared Vision
SMRP and ABRAMAN have worked collaboratively for over a decade through the Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM) and continue to contribute to a Global Certification Scheme in Asset Management. This partnership will further support their joint goals of fostering excellence, enhancing professional development, and expanding access to critical resources within the industry.
Benefits for ABRAMAN Members:
- Certification Promotion: SMRP allows ABRAMAN to promote SMRP certification exams (CMRP and CMRT) in English, Portuguese, or Spanish within South American countries, provided exams are available through Pearson VUE testing centers.
- Waived Annual Sustaining Sponsor Fee: SMRP grants ABRAMAN a waived fee for the Annual Sustaining Sponsor ($1,000/year value) starting at the agreement’s execution and continuing annually thereafter.
- Discounted Exam Fee: ABRAMAN members in good standing can access the SMRP certification exams at a discounted fee of $220 USD for the Portuguese exam, saving $250 from the regular non-member price.
- Recertification Discount: ABRAMAN members who pass the SMRP exam are eligible for a reduced recertification rate of $100 USD upon expiration of their certification.
Benefits for SMRP:
- Exam Fee Commitment: ABRAMAN will pay SMRP $220 USD per exam for exams in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, registered through ABRAMAN in South American countries.
- Exam Pricing Flexibility: ABRAMAN may set exam fees between $220 USD and the retail price of $470 USD for exams registered through ABRAMAN in South America.
- Translation Support: ABRAMAN will provide volunteers to assist SMRP in translating Best Practices Metrics into Portuguese and contribute to Portuguese-language training materials, expanding SMRP’s reach and resource accessibility.
