ATLANTA, GA (July 18, 2016) – The Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification has received renewal for its accreditation with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the ninth year in a row. The CMRP, offered by the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) Certifying Organization (SMRPCO), is the only certification recognized by ANSI within the maintenance, reliability and physical asset management profession.
ANSI accreditation provides independent, third-party validation for the CMRP certification program, which measures practitioners’ expertise and aptitude within various subjects, including business management, equipment reliability, organization and leadership.
“By earning their CMRP certification, practitioners expand their skillsets and are introduced to various management principles that will help advance their careers,” said Erin Erickson, executive director of SMRP. “With this renewal, the CMRP will continue to set the standard for continuing education and best practices within our profession.”
News of the ANSI renewal for the CMRP follows the announcement earlier this year of the inclusion of the Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) certification with SMRP’s and SMRPCO’s offerings. Professionals can now earn CMRP, CAMA or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) designations through SMRP and SMRPCO.
