SMRP Announces 2016 CMRP of the Year Awards Winners

ATLANTA, GA (September 21, 2016) – The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) today announced the winners of its annual CMRP of the Year Awards program, which honors two individuals for their career accomplishments after completing their Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certifications.

SMRP recognizes the following winners of the 2016 CMRP of the Year Awards:

  • Veteran Professional Award: George Williams, CMRP, CRL is the director of asset management for B. Braun Medical, Inc. U.S. He holds a master’s degree in Reliability Engineering from Monash University. He spent 16 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company where he was ultimately responsible for asset management and awarded Uptime Magazine's Best Maintenance and Reliability Program in 2015. George teaches for the University of Wisconsin's Maintenance Management Certificate Program.
     
  • Rising Leader Award: Robert Bishop CMRP, CRL, ISO 55K is the manager of maintenance and reliability at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. In his time there, Robert has worked in validation, equipment qualification and the maintenance and reliability fields. He holds a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester and a master’s in Bioengineering from Syracuse University. Robert is the Chair of the SMRP Pharmaceutical & Biotech Shared Interest Group and teaches reliability topics for the University of Wisconsin – Madison Department of Engineering Professional Development.

“This program does a great job to celebrate the achievements of two worthy CMRP-certified individuals,” said SMRP Chair Bob Kazar. “Both George and Rob have demonstrated the highest level of commitment, and we’re happy to honor them.”
