SMRP Awards Five Scholarships for the 2017-2018 Academic Year

ATLANTA, GA (August 22, 2017) – The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) and the SMRP Foundation, which was established to provide the next generation of practitioners with the necessary resources to pursue their educational goals, are proud to announce the recipients of the SMRP annual scholarship program. This annual program awards five scholarships each year worth up to $10,000 to students pursuing maintenance, reliability and engineering degrees, as well as to family of SMRP members.

“For the second year in a row, we received a record number of scholarship applications from a diverse pool of applicants,” said Erin Erickson, SMRP executive director. “SMRP has always promoted careers for students in maintenance, reliability and physical asset management, so to see the increased growth in applications each year is encouraging for our members and our profession.”

The following students will receive scholarships from the SMRP Foundation for the 2017-2018 academic year:

  • Collin Phillips, Auburn University, recipient of the $10,000 Legacy of Excellence Scholarship.
  • Haley Flecker, Pennsylvania State University, recipient of the $2,000 SMRP Scholarship.
  • Matthew Cummings, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, recipient of the $2,000 SMRPCO Jack & Dorothy Nicholas Scholarship.
  • Sally Raudabaugh, Ohio State University; and Carter Mattox, University of Florida, recipients of two $2,000 Higher Standards Scholarships.

Since 1999, the SMRP Foundation has awarded tens of thousands of dollars in financial support to undergraduate and graduate students at accredited universities and trade schools.
