SMRP Annual Conference Delivers Professional Education, Networking & Business Opportunities

ATLANTA, GA (November 5, 2014) – The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) recently hosted its 22nd Annual Conference in Orlando, Fla., educating practitioners on the latest developments and technology in the industry, including lessons on asset management and the new ISO 55000 standard.

The conference featured 54 track sessions and 21 workshops with speakers covering business & management, manufacturing process reliability, equipment reliability, organization & leadership, work management and physical asset management in the packed convention center.

The new physical asset management track featured sessions on the relevance of ISO 55000 for practitioners, asset life cycle management, strategic asset management planning and two panel discussions where experts answered questions on the implications of ISO 55000.

“This year’s conference was again another major success as it continues to be the premier educational event for global maintenance and reliability professionals,” said SMRP Chair Craig Seibold, CMRP, with Newmont Mining. “For asset management professionals, engineers, technicians, site managers and other practitioners, the SMRP Annual Conference continues to be a must-attend event for those interested in further educating themselves on the latest in asset lifecycle improvements, reliability practices, equipment failure prevention and much more that will effectively drive positive financial performance for their organizations.”

Management expert Chester Elton, best-selling author of “The Carrot Principle,” kicked off the conference with his interactive presentation on engaging and exciting your workforce to drive results. Reliability expert Heinz Bloch spoke at the closing session, offering attendees applicable enhancements for their facilities with calculated paybacks of 10:1.

“The attendees really enjoyed the presentations by the keynote speakers and they provided educational value for practitioners at all levels from plant floor managers to technicians to top level executives,” said Conference Chair Carl Schultz, CMRP, with Advanced Technology Solution, Inc.

Next year’s SMRP Annual Conference will be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, October 12-14. For more information, visit www.smrp.org.
