October 8, 2024
Dear SMRP Members and Conference Attendees,

Your safety and well-being were, and always will be, our top priority, and we are grateful for your patience as we work through this situation together.
Since the decision was made to cancel the event, our team has been working around the clock with the venue, hotel, and various vendors to manage the many logistical details that follow. While the cancellation was a critical step to ensure everyone’s safety, we recognize that it brings a new set of challenges, and we are actively addressing each one. From hotel reservations to event contracts, our priority is to ensure that all elements are handled with care and efficiency.
We understand that many of you have questions about refunds, rescheduling, or other next steps related to the conference. While we may not have all the answers at this time, please know that we are working as quickly as possible to finalize details. It’s important to us that you have clarity and peace of mind regarding your participation in this event, and we aim to provide you with updates and more concrete information within the next two weeks.
In the meantime, we ask for your continued patience and understanding. This has been an incredibly complex and unforeseen situation, but we are committed to ensuring that all your concerns are addressed. Thank you again for your support, resilience, and for being part of the SMRP community.

Important Update: SMRP 2024 Annual Conference Cancelled Due to Hurricane Milton
October 6, 2024.
Dear SMRP Members and Conference Attendees,
Due to the recent developments of Hurricane Milton, which is forecasted to strengthen and impact parts of Florida and surrounding regions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the SMRP Annual Conference. This decision has been made with everyone’s safety and security as our top priority.
Hurricane Milton is expected to bring severe weather conditions, including heavy rains, flooding, and strong winds, making it potentially dangerous for travel and gathering. In light of these developments, we believe canceling the conference is the most responsible course of action to ensure the well-being of all attendees, speakers, and staff.
We understand the disappointment this may cause, and we will be sharing further information soon regarding refunds, potential rescheduling, and other pertinent details.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we take these necessary steps to prioritize your safety. Please stay tuned for additional updates via email and our official conference website.
Stay safe and take care.
Sincerely,
Erin Erickson
